Anti Racism Statement
As a therapist, trainer and consultant committed to focusing on understanding, supporting, and building safe systems around children and families whose lives have been shaped and impacted by chronic trauma and violence, I am aware of and acknowledge the continued structural and systemic violence, racism, and oppression in society both in the UK and elsewhere.
I stand against racism and systemic and structural violence in all its forms. I acknowledge the tremendous toll that historic and current injustice has taken on communities of colour and recognize it as a profound and all too often unnamed form of traumatic stress.
I commit to using my professional platform to name and explore systemic racism and the trauma that this has caused and continues daily to cause for people of colour
I am aware of the privilege afforded to me by my white skin and am committed to educating myself about the trauma and impact of racism by seeking information and education in many places and from many voices.
I am aware that my socialisation and privilege affords me a biased lens through which to view the world and I welcome and seek feedback on any of my actions or the information I bring into training, consultation and therapy which reflect this bias.
